pile-up - řetězová nehoda a road accident involving many cars at the same time

police patrol - policejní hlídka one or more policemen who go around an area (esp. by car) to make sure that everything is okay

pull up - zastavit (vozidlo), zabrzdit to stop the vehicle

road - silnice, cesta the surface specially made for cars and lorries etc. to travel on, it is usually black with white lines

road sign - dopravní značka a sign placed by the side of a road that gives drivers warnings, informs them of restrictions, etc.

roadworks - práce na silnici work on a road (e.g. repairing it etc.)

roundabout - kruhový objezd a round crossing of a few roads

rush hour - dopravní špička the part of the day when there is most traffic on the roads

seatbelt - bezpečnostní pás (v autě) a strap at a seat in a car or plane etc. that helps to prevent serious injury in case of an accident

signpost - dopravní značka, rozcestník a sign placed on the side of a road that gives drivers information about distances, directions etc.; a sign with such information for hikers etc.

speeding - rychlá jízda, překročení povolené rychlosti the act of driving faster than is allowed

speedometer - rychloměr, tachometr equipment in a vehicle that measures how fast it travels

street - ulice a road in a town with houses and buildings on both sides

traffic - doprava (ruch), dopravní ruch, provoz (ve městě) the cars and lorries etc. that are in the streets at a time

traffic jam - zácpa (dopravní), dopravní zácpa a situation in which there are so many cars in the street that they cannot move forward

Vše super a užitečné, akorát u slovíčka "dopravní zácpa" se střídavě objevují 2 odpovědi - jam a traffic jam, z nichž samozřejmě jen jedna je správná. Díky

jen bych chtěla dodat, že slovo "lane" znamena take jízdní pruh.
Co se tyce otazky traffic jam nebo jam, obojí je správně. Traffic jam je ale přesnější. Jam je jeho zkratkou. V londýně se používa zase jen traffic

Dobrý slovíčko
Ještě by se k tomuto hodilo slovíčko jaywalker- nepozorný chodec. a sloveso: to jaywalk, to go against the red- jít na červenou

Myslím si,že by se měli aspoň nějak odlišovat slovíčka. Například už zmíněná slovíčka traffic jam a jam. Dále pak intersection a junction a jeste flyover a overpass. V testu to nejde rozlišit.

Ano, rozlišujeme, v programu, odkud jsou tato slovíčka vzata. WORD MANAGER samozřejmě vše rozlišuje. Tady online je jen ostříhaná podoba.
