Zdravím,
v předmětu anglická úřední korespondence jsme dostali vzory jak psát dopisy, stížnosti apod. A v jednom z nich je tato věta:
I am writing to express my appretiation for the quality of service you offered me the days of my stay at the Lanchester London hotel. The reception desk staffs were always pleasant and willing to help and advise us, which made our stay very enjoyable.
Jedná se o chybu nebo mi něco utíká? Normálně bych to přešel, ale je to od PhDr ženský, tak se raději ptám
Díky Kuba
Vždycky nejprve zkus slovník, Kubo.
The plural form staffs is less frequent but is
used in both British English and North American English to refer to more than
one group of people:
- the senator and his staff (singular)
- senators and their staffs (plural).
