Athletics is a basic sport. There are lots of discipline in athletics. Athletics
is separe into light and heavy athletics. Light athletics is one of the most
oldest sport. Runs are typical discipline of light athletics. There are five
kinds of runs: sprints, endurace runs, runs for medium tracks, relay race and
hurdling. Runs
Sprints are shorter and very fast runs. Sprinters have maximum speed for all
time of race. They wear spikes, because they are faster with them. People run
sprints 50 m, 60 m, 100 m, 200 m and 400 m long. Racers start with starting
blocks. Blocks make start faster. Starter shot and race can run. If some racer
run out before shot, he will be exclude. Racer with the best time will win.
Endurace runs are langer and slower. Racers have some speed and they usually
speed up in finish. Endurace runs are since 3 000 m long. For example

Third kind of runs are medium tracks. Races have to be fast, but they can not
have the biggest speed, because they have to run long track. For example 600 m,
800 m or 1 500 m long.
Team of four racers run relay race 4×100 m, 4×200 m, 4×400 m, 4×800m or 4×

Women run hurdling 50 m, 60 m and 100 m long and men run hurdling 400 m and
