Puntičkář by trval na definici v Oxford English Dictionary:

would just as soon: as willingly, as readily (je mi to jedno)

sooner: more willingly, more readily (raději bych)

If I have to wait 20 minutes for the bus, I'd just as soon walk home. (It makes no difference to me whether I walk home or get the bus)

If I have to wait 20 minutes for the bus, I'd sooner walk home. (I'd [= I would] prefer to walk home.)

Ale většinou na tom nezáleží, bývají zaměnitelné.

Ano, vaše tři věty jsou v pořádku. Spíš bych ale dodal with my friends. Význam se nemění. Na stylistické úrovni však lze říct, že rather je běžnější než sooner nebo just as soon, které zní trošku formálněji nebo vzdělaněji – viz Ngram. Všimněte si taky “rather go to play” – 29 “real” hits on Google, “rather go and play” – 140 “real” hits on Google. Jinak řečeno, go and play zní idiomatičtěji.
