Zdravím, rád bych se na vás obrátil o pomoc. Vypracoval jsem si maturitní téma do angličtiny a chtěl bych vás poprosit, pokud byste mi ho někdo mohl opravit. Děkuji moc za pomoc
The place where I study is also the place where I live. I study Gymnazium of Frýdlant nad Ostravicí, which is located not far from the centre of the town on the T.G.Masaryk square. Frýdlant nad Ostravicí is a small town in the Moravian-Silesian region. It has about 10 000 inhibitants. Frýdlant occupies the area of almost 22 square kilometres. The town is situated on the Ostravice river, which flows into the Odra river. Frýdlant is located in the valley of the Beskydy mountains and has a beautiful nature and mountains. And it is also not very distant from bigger cities like Ostrava or Frýdek-Místek
The highest mountain of the Beskydy mountains is Lysá hora, which is only few kilometres far from Frýdlant. Lysá is about 1323 metres high. If you like hiking you can also visit the peaks of nearby mountains like Skalka, Smrk or others. In my opinion our mountains and nature are very interesting for tourists and I am really proud of them.
In winteryou can easily find slopes for skiing naerby Frýdlant such as ski Bílá or ski Malenovice. If you are not interested in skiing or hiking, you can play some sport here. Here are many courts for tennis or you can join the football club here. If the weather is bad you can rent a gym. I could recommend the one next to our gymnasium.
In Frýdlant we have a small centre where is a square and a town hall. Next to the square there is a Church of St. Bartoloměj. You can also find there some shops. Our only “shopping centre” is called Oma. And you can find there grocery or clothes shop. Not far away from Oma are another two supermarkets. I would say here is no problem with shopping, here are many shops and supermarkets. But if you need to buy some clothes or something else you should visit some bigger city like Frýdek or Ostrava.
If you dont have the driving licence you can travel by bus or by train, which i would definitely not recommend, but there is no other choice. If you are hungry you can go to Kebab or visit some of the restaurants in the town. In summer you can go to our swimming pool, which is quite old.. Two gymnaziums (grammar schools) are located in Frýdlant. One of them is private and the other on eis public. I am attending the fourth year of the public high school. Two grammar and two high schools are quite a lot for small town like Frýdlant.
The local weather is not very special in any season. In winter, here is usually cold and the snow is falling. Springs and autumns are rainy and windy. Summers are usually sunny and warm.
A few years back a new cycling path which leads to Frydek-Mistek was built. The cycling path is often used by locals and tourists. Although Frydlant is a small town, there is also a small airport, but it is only used for recreational purposes.
Something about the town´s history: The town was probably founded in the 13th century during the Germanic colonization. Frýdlant belonged to the Hukvaldy manor for a long time. The inhabitants were mainly farmers and woodcutters. In 16th century the church was bulit here. The church is dedicated to saint Bartolomew. In 17th century first iron mills were bulit here. After the discovery of coal deposits in Ostrava the ironworks in Frýdlant lost their importance. In the 19th century the town was connected with the Ostrava region by a railroad which continues further to the heart of the Beskydy mountains.
I like my hometown very much, but there are several things I'd like to change. For example I would like to change the noise and so many cars driving through the city during the day, which cause pollution of the environment. But that is impossible to change. I would appreciate if the restaurants here would improve their services and offer better food. Another thing I would like to change would be our outdoor swimming pool, which is very old and it should be repaired. But in overall here are more positives than negatives. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside and mountains, there are many opportunities for various activities.
