Poprosil by som o kontrolu časov v príbehu. Ďakujem.

One hot summer‘s day, Mr and Mrs Baley, from San Francisco, (1) were traveling home from Arizona where they (2) had visited Mrs Baley’s elderly grandmother. During their visit, Mrs Baley (3) persuaded her husband to let the old lady (4) live with them and so they (5) were bringing her home with them to San Francisco. They (6) were driving along through the desert, quite happily, the old woman (7) was sitting on the back seat, the couple (8) was chatting in the front. After a while, they (9) realised that the old woman (10) hadn’t spoken for some time. The wife (11) turned round to ask her if she was okay, as, earlier on, she (12) had complained about the terrible heat. However, the grandmother (13) did not reply.

To je z nějaké učebnice, že?

Vše je v pořádku, jen na konci mi není úplně jasné, jak to skončilo – nebo ten příběh ještě nějak pokračuje?

Je to časť starého testu štátnej jazykovej skúšky. Dostali sme to za domácu úlohu. Tento text , ktorý som tu dal je taký ako sme ho dostali. Ale text+pokračovanie sa dá vygoogliť ale do vyhľadávania treba dať vetu : “one hot summer's day mr and mrs x from san francisco”.

A najväčší problém som mal s vetami č. 5 – 8, stále som si nebol istý či dať minulý jednoduchý alebo priebehový. Po prečítaní článku tu na HFE o minulých časoch sa to zdá byť jednoduché ale keď je to takto v príbehu je to dosť ťažké.

Průběhový čas je tam v pořádku – popisuje pozadí příběhu, pozadí té situace, kdy se babičky zeptali.
