There are several reasons why I have decided to participate in a voluntary project. Firstly, I like to help people so I hope my work at the workcamp will be useful for someone. I also enjoy getting to know new cultures and meeting new people from various countries.

And what do I expect from the workcamp? I think a workcamp is one of the best ways to understand how the people abroad really live. I hope it will be a great experience which will move me forward. However, honestly I do not like expectations so I will just wait and see."

• how the people abroad really live – máte na mysli obecně cizince a mluvíte o nich poprvé
• it will be a great experience – pokud má experience vyjadřovat zážitek, pak ok, pokud to má být zkušenost, pak bez členu (je to uncountable)
• osobně mi moc nesedí ta věta However, honestly I do not like expectations, ale třeba je to jen můj dojem

Pozn.: Překládat “gymnázium” pomocí “grammar school” je nepřesné a zavádějící  – viz článek Jak se řekne ‘pomlázka’?

1. Jde jednak o kombinaci HOWEVER + HONESTLY. Obě slova tu plní podobnou funkci.
2. EXPECTATIONS samo o sobě nenese jasný význam. Očekávání čeho, koho, jaká…?
