For boys and fathers

Heh :-) The „For girls and mothers“ topic kinda inspired me to create this one :-)

So guys, hows it going? Anything you wanna share? :-) Dont be afraid :-P

(sport/movies/music/jokes… whatever :-) )

Hey, the topic name reminded me of a book I'm reading at the moment. It's called Sh*t my dad says – written by Justin Halpern.
It's tremendously funny. The main character is actually Justin Halpern himself, it's an autobiographical book. The book depicts his childhood and his dad mostly. His father, well, uses mostly swear words. There's not a sentence which doesn't contain the work F*ck :) That might offend some people, I guess.

Here's an excerpt where father talks with Justin (don't read it if you get offended by swear words!):

„They're celebrating you graduating from eighth grade? We just went to your sixth-grade graduation two goddamned years ago! Jesus Christ, why don't they just throw a fucking party every time you properly wipe your ass?“

:)

Hi boys and fathers. Have you seen the moon this evening?

My husband is somewhere on the hill with my son and they are watching the sky and the moon…

I know, this is „your area“. Good bye and good luck.

Nice :-) I like space things :-) It would be nice pictures, but I dont have telezoom lens.. yet. :-)

Thanks for the info anyway :-D I will be happy to watch it at least from my balcony :-)

Heh, got some pictures anway :-) http://www.flickr.com/…26182218111/

Nice shots

Anyone seen the movie called Black swan? Have read a few great reviews and thinking of going to the movies. It it worth it?
The last movie I went to see was Avatar and it was just because it offered something I had never seen ever before, 3D. And it's been quite a time since then and I believe this movie could be really exceptional. Then again, why not watch it from a cosy armchair at my place when it is not likely to be any different from the version I could download, right?
Anyways, this leads to an interesting notion. Is it still worthwhile going to a movie theater when there is nothing you can't get at home?

I haven't seen Black Swan and after reading its overview, I don't think I will ever watch it. Nevertheless, what caught my eye is your question if it is worth seeing in the movies. And my answer would be that it depends on you taste concerning movies. In my book, movies including a lot of action and special effects, amazing sound effects and good story at the same time are worth watching in a movie theater. The reason is simple, you won't be able to enjoy this features at home unless you have a really expensive home cinema (and even though the movies would provide you with a better experience). However, if we are talking about drama movies (such as Black Swan), I don't think they are worth the money spent on the ticket cos you can get a similar experience watching it at home. Of course, in the movies, it would be better, but still the ratio experience/price would be way lower.
To sum up, whether watching a movie in the movies is worth it or not depends on the kind of the movie. That's my view on this matter.
