Help for English

Just speaking

Yehh, I am in the same boat like editas and definitely many others. If there are subtitles, I am capable of taking whole film in. However, without subtitles, it's dreadful. But Mr. Vit gived me motivation, that you have to bide your time. So I am waiting. I have been studying English hard just for one year, so no wonder. I am looking forward to the time, when I be able to understand completely all films.

Battlefield:
U've been studying english only for 1 year? That's a big progress, dude. It took me about 10 years to get at that level.
I should be ashamed.

No need to be ashamed. I haven't studied English just for one.
I have been studying English about 7years. However, it was just last year that could be called studying. Before that, it had been just waste of time.
:-D So you can be calm :-).
I would have to be the genius. But I am not, unfortunately.

Haven´t been here for two days but can see nothing has really changed. Anyway, thank you Battlefield for an attempt to join the beginners to the conversation but they obviously aren´t interested. Or, I guess they can´t just understand us – pros, haha:-D.
To Ghoul: So what level are you then? And don´t scare me to say it takes so long. I wish the learning language was manageable in a few months :-)

Yehh, maybe, they didn't understand. Then again, it suffice to write that I don't understand or something like that.
I would say problem is (někde jinde-elsewhere?)-how to say it in English? :-D

But now there is just two days more :D But I hope it will be good. Last jingling? With grammar school I can became only a worker…so I was worker. Geography will be fine, i really like it (but NOT ASIA!) and German – the main problem;) I am afraid of German. I know grammar very well but speak 10min about a topic…it is like a punishment!!!

To editas01: Hi, I'm sorry I didn't notice your question earlier, I'm quite busy :-( and I cannot promise it'll be better  However now I'm here :-) You were asking about my nick – do you know Star Wars? When I was younger I wanted to be like Natalia Portman (young famous beautiful actress), she plays in Star Wars one of the main character named Padme Amidala. I fell in love with that name… and you can also see Padme in my picture :-D Well the next question was about my hometown – Kopřivnice. Yes, I have been in Tatra museum several times, but I must confess, it is not my cup of tea. I'm not interested in cars and other old vehicles… I prefer art galleries :-)

to editas: Well, I think somewhere B2 level now, But I've never studied hard except for the last few months, the first 10 years till the end of high school was a waste of time as well as for others. So don't be scared, It doesn't take so long, I just admire those who reached that level as early as at high school.

To Mariush2 So how did you get on? Did you pass? What grades? Which was the worst and easiest subject? And how about English – what topic did you have?

To Padme. I have been busy recently too so sorry for not answering straight away. Ah, I know Star Wars but to be honest, I am not very keen on it. But the thing is that I have never given it chance. Maybe once I do, I will also like it.
Once my parents decided to indulge me a bit of culture so they took me to Tatra museum. I must admit it wasn't my cup of tea either :-).
Where do you go to art galleries?

To Ghoul. It's sad that most of us writes the same story – the study of English at the primary/high school was rubbish. How would make it everything easier if we had had a good teacher who actually taught us something… I am doing my best now and trying to study hard as well but it's a time killer!:-(

To Edita: Hi! You've changed your nick, haven't you? :-) Anyway, about the galleries… unfortunately I haven't got so much time (honestly I'm too lazy to travel somewhere visiting galleries) but I have been to Paris – Louvre… it was amazing there! However for me the best way of exploring the art is with the help of computer. There's everything on the internet. Although I know the reality is better (sometimes at least bigger), it's cheaper than the real gallery – I'm only a poor student :-D

It seems that almost all people studying English at primary or secondary school are in the boat. The bad level of English occurs in our schools :-ú. What to do? I heard that you don't need to complete any master's degree to be a teacher at school. It suffices to finish school-leaving exam to be enable to be an English teacher. (Is that horrible sentence right? :-) )
But I guess here are enough eager people to English. That mean, maybe, lots of teachers-to-be :-)
On the other hand, I don't think people with great knowledge are going to be an English teacher.

Hallo, I would like to ask somebody here. My friend told me, that I can make some friend here and go somewhere to practise my english. please write me how to do it? thank you very much. Lucy

OMG, these stupid comments get me down. When we wanted to raise a discussion, write with someone, give English tips atd stuff. No one answered. Then, here are piles of great tips how to study, read, listen … just like that, everything about English. Just make a little bit of effort.

Nothing against you, it is just driving me crazy still read these stupid comments. First you must start with you yourself.

PS Is the last sentence correct? I'm not sure.

Well, in my point of view it's supposed to be – First you must start with yourself.

Yehh, of course, you are right, I just wanted to put a more stress there, in Czech it would be-začít se sebou samým, not just se sebou
Maybe, it is not possible in English, I dunno
