The Legend of Loch Ness
In Scotland, there is a big, deep lake called Loch Ness. A long time ago, a man was walking by the water. He was watching the birds and the trees when he saw something strange.
In the middle of the lake, a large shape was moving. It looked like a snake, but it was much bigger. The man watched carefully. The creature had a long neck and a small head. It was swimming slowly in the water.
The man ran back to the village. He told everyone about the strange creature. “There is a monster in Loch Ness!” he said. The villagers were scared, but some were curious. They wanted to see the monster too.
After that day, many people said they saw the creature. Some said it was friendly, but others were afraid of it. They called it the Loch Ness Monster, or “Nessie.”
Even today, people visit Loch Ness to look for Nessie. Some take boats and cameras, hoping to see the famous monster. Nobody knows if Nessie is real, but the story lives on.
