Hezký článek. Já na to poprvé narazil, když jsem viděl toast jako nepočitatelné.

We drank a toast FOR (instead of to) those who weren't with us anymore. It is possible to say to, but for makes more sense. I do think it should be for, because the location of those not there seems uncertain and because they are not there, they are not aware of the toast.Therefore, use for, it is a toast on there behalf, so you are toasting for them. I like your websites!!

No, we drink a toast TO something or somebody, it doesn't matter if the person is there or not. That is the collocation. A TOAST TO sth/sb

Čili v níže uvedeném známém citátu je vlastně chyba, protože před podst. jménem “toast” by správně neměl být člen neurčitý, že ano?
