God

What do you think about scientists, who declares they have scientific evidences that space is not infinity, peoples or animals are not evolved by natural way, but they say that subatomic particles or planets are created directly by God and he drives evolution of animals by his own, not by his laws of nature because that's impossible. They often use argument, that ‚normal‘ scientist couldn't fully explain their theories about natural laws of evolution or creation of the world.

This question is not about existence of God, it's about seriousnes of these scientists. Todays is a lot of these scientists. These arguments become fashionable. Do you believe these scientists?

normal science = new medieval religion, who does not believe in it is stupid.

serious scientist once fiercly stated that blood does not circulate, that one race is superior to other, that the shape of our skull determines our behaviour, thar the earth is flat I could go on for ages

Bozkurt, I think they were not serious becouse they were too languish for fame and reputation, so they made premature deduction. But normal science is not about faith. It's about research and observation.

they were serious back then like they are serious now! they observed that blood does not circulate, that blacks are inferior to whites because they don't have gunpowder etc.
and that's because you never get to see the whole image…
take a look at light – once it was nothing, then waves, then particles, then both or neither or? dunno and everytime researched and proved
wait a few years and you will see that all science will be tits up again

I dont think so. Do you think that your microwave will stop work in a few years because science will be changed? Or science discover that no microwaves warm up your food, but God's miraculous power warms up your food everytime when you push the button?

no one denies that when you press the start button on a microwave it warms your food up…but, the particles of that causal chain will change/ will be removed/replaced

so the necessary condition (you pressing the button) and the effect (warm food) remains but permissive causes, intervention variable etc. will change…what if microwaves just make some other waves/strings/whatever do something else something in opinion of contemporary scientists not possible and that „something impossible (not God or dwarfs but some strings/tubes/bouncing balls)“ makes thing warm?

Can You Pass the Religious Literacy Test http://www.usatoday.com/…-cover_N.htm :?:

People came up with GOD(s) because they were unable to comprehend the laws of nature. Now we have Science, which means we don't need god anymore :-)

Oh yes, this is exactly what I was taught at elementary school. They also told us that comunism is the best system of all…

:-D It may sometimes happens that somebody knows all about nature but still feel be not complete, he can feel may be a lack of something more than is he or nature

Ad Filip: That is my opinion too…

There isn't a god. We were created just by chance. Some people may say „that is impossible for Christ's sake!“. My answer is no, it's not, it's just VERY improbable. The universe is said to be very, very big (maybe infinite).. the bigger the universe is, the bigger chance of being created there is, if the universe is infinite, there is an infinite number of creatures as intelligent as us :)

That's something I believe in, but I don't have any objections to opinions and faiths of other people (that's the most wonderful thing of being an atheist :)).

ad Geo: And they taught us that one plus one is two.. And it is true! Everything they said wasn't true, but everything they said wasn't a lie either.

Good question. Two years ago, I'd probably answer no. But everything is different now. I can say that I have a strong testimony about God and His son, Jesus Christ.
This knowledge, that God is real, alive and Our Father helps me a lot in my life. In last few months, I have had some serious trials and without the help and my testimony,
I would not make it that easily. I think it is imperative for each of us to believe in something solid. It does not have to be necessarily the same religion. But it has to be something strong.
It has to be something that you can rely on when needed. Then, it helps you realize that you are not alone and there is always someone who can help you bear the burden.
On the subject of science – one really wise man once said „The more I study science, the more I believe in God“. I think it is quite clear what I am trying to say. :-)
Science here on Earth is really complicated. I simply do not believe that the creation was a coincidence. Someone had to trigger it. Without action, there is no reaction. That is a simple law of physics. Also, it is important to understand that science and religion are not opposites. When you go deep and think a lot, you find out that science and religion blends together.
So yeah, I do believe in God and I am happy :-)

“Science and religion are two windows that people look through trying to understand the big universe outside.”
Freeman Dyson
Many questions can be answered by means of science. But not all. Science can show us HOW, religion deals with WHY
Some scientists believe in God, some don't. Some consider science unable to prove existence or non existence of God.
Yes, I am a happy believer, too. And I love mathematics.

I don't believe in God, but I maybe believe in terminators 8-)

how does that „maybe believing“ work?… I thought it was either I believe or I don't believe…
