For girls and mothers

Hi girls!

Chocolatka, I feel these two as different structures.
It went wrong.
What is going on?
Oh, I found it!

1. Everything was going fine, when about half an hour into the race it started to spit with rain.
to happen
I wonder what’s going on next door – they’re making a lot of noise.

As for the finding a way home or somewhere, I usually tell the children where is our meeting point in case they get lost.

Fife,
I just guess some mistakes?: the sun (it's only one)

Chocolatka's comment is right I suppose,
Since I have never experienced anything similar. I thing that expresing that it is still unforgetable experience for you, „since“ should be in the end of the sentence.

Fife, I have Czech Heaven here, but I haven't seen it yet. I should find a ribbon you say… :-)

We had one winter/spring addicted to Půjdem spolu do Betléma. I just look it up in iTunes, and we played it on computer 1185, most of the other favourite songs we played 120times. Third one loves „Štěstí zdraví pokoj svatý“ and keep singing it even on the seventh of March.

I finally looked up the name of the disease we have, it is scarlet fever. The oldest daughter got the antibiotics today, second one will be released from hospital tomorrow, I'm OK.

Just keep swimming… (do you know the movie?)

Have a nice evening.

Fife,
„I might be wrong.“ is really good, thanks. I think it fits here :-)

about the foggy day: Thanks for the link. We learnt that's better to use „it has been“ when we talk about „morning“ or „today“ or even „this week“, „this year“, but I suppose both (it is and it has been) is right. The first option means „dnes je ..“, the second one „dnes bylo (celý den) ..“.
So, it was O.K. in your story :-).

Cifka,
well, you are most probably right about „going“.
I wonder.. Can I use „going on“ as „continue“ in this story?

I am affraid my children don't have any favourite song. They just tune the themes from Star Wars and Indiana Jones all the time :-D .

Cifka, what is „Czech Heaven“?

How to say „ať se děti brzy uzdraví“ :?:
I can say „I hope your kids get well soon.“ but what if I want to say „ať“? ..„May your kids get well soon“??

Chocolatka, Czech Heaven – České nebe (Divadlo Járy Cimrmana) and the song is at the end (you can see it on youtube)

Google překladač offers:
Let the kids get better soon.

I think that it could be OK

I like Cimrman, but I don't know Czech Heaven  .

We have just seen it :-D Fabulous! Thanks.

and I finished my profile :-)

„We learn by mistakes“
„Failure teaches success“

I have to encourage myself :-)

Hi brave mothers. How are you doing?
Have you heard about the book „Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother“? Yesterday I told my husband :“It is not necessary to give me more than one Christmas gift. I would like to read this book.“
I know that we are going to celebrate Easter, but what about you and your (realizable) wish/wishes?

Have a nice day!

České nebe is extraordinary outstanding performance :-)

Do you know any TV series or book which could be similar in English – with such a sence of humour? Something about England history … :?:

Fife, thanks, I want this book :-)

CONGRATULATIONS! :-)

What did you learn yesterday? Something interesting?

jarmi1: As far as me – I do not know. My knowledge is still in its infancy :-(

I did Oxford bookworm tests. http://www.oup.com/…msleveltest/

I wrote down some notes on good authors, books and films I read about in new profiles.
( Michael Crichton, John Grisham, Angelas Ashes, Art Spiegelman – Maus, serial.- Chuck, Dexter, Scrubs, Black Books, Doctor Who, True Blood, Lost in Translation!)

I tried to find some rules how to use that „going on“ and „going fine“ in Swan's Practical English Usage. I wasn't very successfull though.

I watched one part of Outnumbered series – funny and short.

I made three easy listenings and vocabulary exercises. http://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/en/uk-culture

We have another scarlatina – the youngest son and lot of time to study…

Today I'm going to look up new words from this article http://www.bbc.co.uk/…ent-12668190

jarmi1: I don't know anything similar :-(

Oh, I got it finally! (The greeting Fife wrote) Happy women's day! :-)

I must think about my wishes, it is not an easy question.
